The Newport Middle School community will come together this Friday, October 10th at 5:30 PM for a special Student Council Swearing-In Ceremony in the school library.

The event will mark the official induction of Newport Middle School’s newly elected Student Council Representatives, who will take an oath of service and leadership before their families, peers, and teachers.

Presiding over the ceremony will be The Honorable Judge Bob R. Cherry, a distinguished member of the Craven County Superior Court. Judge Cherry will lead the formal proceedings as students pledge to represent their fellow Eagles with integrity, responsibility, and school pride.

Following the ceremony, guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments and fellowship. Students are encouraged to dress appropriately for this meaningful occasion as they take their oaths before the Newport Middle School community.

Assistant Principal Clinton Johnson, shared his enthusiasm for the event, noting, “This ceremony celebrates leadership, responsibility, and the bright future of our students. We’re honored to have Judge Cherry join us for such an important moment. "We look forward to honoring our new representatives and celebrating this important milestone together!
